Most school´s have a no pass,no play rule. Exceptions in most school districts have rules with grades if you ain´t passing you aint stepping on the field or court. This is considered a UIL law for sports. Most parents wonder why there kids are on the sideline not suited out when the others are playing on the field. What most parents dont understand is they are not trying to discipline us they are doing it for us to keep up in school. They want us to represent Seagraves HS/JH in a good manner. •Students beginning in grades nine and below must have been promoted from the previous grade prior to the beginning of the current school .Is a state law requiring public school students who participate in extracurricular requirements. It is a state legislation that high school students pass all of there required courses. This has became an issue to most parents because they want there students out there no matter what the case is. Some coaches have a it down talk with the parents to give them more info about it. Also most coaches give all athletes a packet to take home for out family members to read over and sigh it. This rule has been here since 1984 but just recently most schools started doing it to see how well the students would relate to it or benefit it. Each six-week grading period in order to qualify to continue participating in extracurricular activities such as athletics, band not just basketball and football its mainly everything no pass no play .So in this grading police it is very complicated for the teachers when you think your passing you could actually be failing so never doubt the smartness of the teachers cause you will always fail against them no lie. https://www.uiltexas.org/policy/tea-uil-side-by-side/academic-requirements -https://definitions.uslegal.com/n/no-pass-no-play-rule/ -https://definitions.uslegal.com/n/no-pass-no-play-rule/
